Why Hypnosis, Why NLP, WHY?

Why Hypnosis?

A legitimate question for anyone to ask, right?

Hypnosis works because basically all your ‘loops of thinking’
and beliefs are embedded in your ‘life script’
between the ages of birth – 9,
after that your critical mind starts setting filters
based on your past associations with things/people/situations…

…and hypnosis allows both your conscious and subconscious
to be ‘in the room’ together…
but I’m getting into the preparation of a real session here now : )

There’s been much studying done on how people ‘change’
in traditional schools of psychology and psychotherapy
though when it comes to things like fears and phobias,
they found it a very hit or miss approach.

Hypnosis, however, provided much higher success rates
and Neuro Linguistic Programming provided more insight
into how this actually works…
Hypnosis and NLP
Profound changes, quickly and easily, did you hear that part?

My personal feelings about hypnotherapy is that
it often is so quick and easy that a few things occur:

  1. People scoff at it, because …‘if it works so quickly and easily why aren’t more therapists using the techniques’? Ah, great question.

Most traditional talk therapy is relationship based (and insurance billed)
and so you combine repetition with paid services,
is it nice to talk out your thoughts and get some ‘life skills’ in your ‘toolbox’?
– yes, that’s what cognitive behavioral therapy is good at,
and sometimes, it aids with changes.

Though as I mentioned above, real change must take place
in your ‘life script’ which is imprinted in your subconscious,
and without access to the subconscious through hypnosis techniques
(and there are several varieties used for various purposes),
it’s difficult to produce lasting and profound positive change or improvements.

2. People have to be ready for that positive change to occur, yes, I mean this.

A smoker or nail biter will always say they don’t want to do ‘it’ anymore
though as the hypnotist you must dig in and find the urge/need,
the action and feeling there and the replacement behavior,
and then – voila’ – true changes do occur.

Please go to my: This is for me … How do we get started? Tab
and Let’s set up a time to improve what’s already working
And reframe and shift up the rest in a way that serves your higher purpose.

This is for me … How do we get started?

Hypnotherapy/Life Coaching Sessions for you…

Just so you know,
Your first session is usually one hour and fifteen minutes,
and we’ll go over your answers to some questions
I will send you via email prior to your scheduled appointment.

If you find answering written questions challenging,
no worries at all, we can go over some of it during your session
though it’s beneficial to get to the space where we can do the work
(Katie Byron does not have that term copyrighted,
and it’s always rewarding to feel you getting the effects
and implementing your part as quickly as possible.

That ‘implementing’ will depend on what we uncover during our time together
and can include listening to the custom recorded hypnosis every morning and evening
for 5-7 days, and possibly some other ‘homework’ that will lead to positive
and life enhancing inner experiences for you.

Everything affects everything else and our interactions
will be the same in terms of how much or how often we work together
and that will depend on your specific needs.

Most clients require 3-6 sessions for reinforcement
and we can determine together whether one of my pre-structured packages
would work for you or if we need to create a custom hypnosis/NLP/life coaching series
that will benefit you best.

Four different states of consciousness

Four different states of consciousness

  1. Beta – Wide awake state
  2. Alpha – Relaxed / Learning State
  3. Theta – Meditation / Hypnotic state
  4. Delta – Sleep state

Everyday were are constantly in and out of the four different states of consciousness.

You see everyone must go through the Theta (Meditation/Hypnotic)
state each and every night before they can reach the Delta (Sleep) state.

When people say that they can’t be Hypnotized
they probably don’t realize that they go in and out of the Theta (Hypnotic) state
between 5 & 10 times a day.

You also go from the Delta (sleep) state back to the Theta (Meditation/Hypnotic) state
right before waking up each morning as well.

Hypnosis is a natural state of being and once you understand it,
there shouldn’t be any fears or complications with Hypnotherapy.

How Can Hypnosis Help Me?

Hypnosis will help you to rediscover your higher self and your inner beauty, strength, energy and peace. It will get you in touch with all your vast resources within so you can achieve your greatest human potential.

[mk_fancy_title size=”18″ font_weight=”bold” margin_bottom=”0″ font_family=”none”]Remember, what you think about most is what you get.[/mk_fancy_title][mk_fancy_title size=”18″ font_weight=”bold” margin_bottom=”0″ font_family=”none”]Or, in ‘energetic terms’ – where you focus your attention: Expands![/mk_fancy_title]

Hypnosis means making a powerful working connection between your conscious, subconscious and unconscious minds and being in fuller control of your thought patterns.

If you think you can – you will and your personal ‘energy’ or ‘vibe’ will reflect exactly that.

Everything is effected by everything and it all begins in the mind.

Does your personal energy exude confidence or … something else?

What I have seen during my years in practice is people set too many boundaries on themselves. They limit themselves and use fear (false evidence appearing real) to keep themselves ‘small’ and bound to those limits.

The concept that your inner mental and spiritual world has huge impact on your outer physical world is not at all new. You’ve heard the phrase – “Mind moves matter,” yes?

It is over 2,000 years old!

Using your mind over life matters works, your mind and how your thoughts process definitely matters in terms of where you focus your energy. This means that you have the ability to take charge of your life by taking charge of your thoughts and the energy you bring into your awareness.

Remember that your Mind, body and spirit are always in contact and play out your life script together. I take a Holistic approach which can include discussing your current eating lifestyle and what and how often exercise/movement is incorporated into your life and no matter how you approach spirituality now, we can and will discuss how spending some time going within each day can benefit you…to not only reinforce the work we do together in your hypnotherapy/life coaching sessions but to give you the inner time required daily to truly become the person you see in your minds’ eye.

What is Hypnosis …exactly?

…well now, let’s get technical for a minute, and then I’ll break it down for you.

[mk_fancy_title size=”18″ font_weight=”bold” margin_bottom=”0″ font_family=”none”]There are Four different states of consciousness[/mk_fancy_title]
  1. Beta – Wide awake state
  2. Alpha – Relaxed / Learning State
  3. Theta – Meditation / Hypnotic state
  4. Delta – Sleep state

Everyday we’re are constantly in and out of the four different states of consciousness.

You see everyone must go through the Theta (Meditation/Hypnotic) state each and every night before they can reach the Delta (Sleep) state.

When people say that they can’t be Hypnotized they probably don’t realize that they go in and out of the Theta (Hypnotic) state between 5 & 10 times a day.

You also go from the Delta (sleep) state back to the Theta (Meditation/Hypnotic) state right before waking up each morning as well.

Hypnosis is a natural state of being and once you understand what it is you realize that hypnosis is a very normal, naturally occurring state. And literally everyone experiences it from one to many times a day.

…other ‘everyday’ hypnotic experiences include:

  • Daydreaming
  • Driving
  • Book reading
  • Television viewing
  • And while playing a sport

So you see, hypnosis is a useful method that helps many individuals overcome unwanted habits, improves and boosts self-confidence, releases unnatural fears and phobias and enhances all of your healing processes, whether it’s your heart that needs healing or your body, your powerful mind can and will help you if you allow it to. Hypnosis permits us to bypass our conscious filters to gain control over our own ‘unconscious’ processes and shifting thought processes guides where you then choose to focus your potent life energy.

Hypnosis can have a very positive effect on our emotional state, our ability to relax and even on body functions, such as lowering blood pressure and much more.

The optimal hypnotic state is actually a state of highly focused attention.

In daydreaming, your attention is filled by your memories and imagination and your physical and external reality simply fades away… as your attention goes within.

So, for instance, when you drive for long periods of time, we tend to daydream. Your subconscious is doing the driving in this instance.

You are not paying a lot of attention to where you are geographically, and you are still driving safely. Your subconscious mind is designed to protect you, so if you’re keeping a safe distance between your car and the car in front of you, you are subconsciously paying attention to the oncoming traffic. You can literally arrive and not remember how you got there, or what you did along the way (this is called hypnotic amnesia).

Reading or watching television absorbs your attention and you notice nothing else around you, it’s the same principle as a person having  an operation while under hypnosis. Your attention is so absorbed and distracted by something else that the actual pain is not perceived or felt.

The same occurs when playing a sport, again, your attention is absorbed by the game at hand. The accompanying crowd noise, physical pain or any other element just fades from your awareness.

[mk_fancy_title size=”18″ font_weight=”bold” margin_bottom=”0″ font_family=”none”]Do you see now just how powerful your subconscious is?[/mk_fancy_title][mk_fancy_title size=”18″ font_weight=”bold” margin_bottom=”0″ font_family=”none”]AND … Just to be VERY clear…[/mk_fancy_title]

Your subconscious mind will protect you when you are in hypnosis, you will not do anything that is against your personal or moral convictions.

If a suggestion were given that was against your personal or moral convictions, you would either ignore the suggestion or you would bring yourself out of hypnosis.

You are always in TOTAL control.

My job as your hypnotherapist is to be a guide to your inner world, to be there to support you during your inner work and transformation while keeping you both safe and comfortable.
